conditions - Feet/Ankles

Podiatry is the treatment of the foot and lower limb and is derived from Greek 'pod' meaning feet, and 'iatros' meaning physician.

A podiatrist can be helpful in the postural alignment of the knee, hip and back. A podiatrist is the only medical specialist educated, trained, licensed, and certified for exclusive treatment of the foot and ankle. Podiatrists also play a critical role in the care, treatment and management of the diabetic, the older person and those with circulation impairment. Chiropody is the maintenance of routine foot care.

Treatments available: • Athlete’s foot • Bunions and hammer toes • Corns and callous • Verrucas • In-growing toe nails • Nail care • Achilles tendonitis • Diabetes • Shin splints • Flat feet • Heel pain/plantar fasciitis • Knee instability • Postural back pain • Aching and tired feet • Biomechanics of the foot and leg • Orthotic inserts and insoles.
